The Last Round Up

The Last Round-Up, one of the most popular eating places on Highway 12, was located on Delano’s west side on the corner of the highway and Bridge street. The business was owned in 1946 by Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Rekow, who purchased the business from Mr. and Mrs. H. I. Ward in October 1945. Besides being a popular eating spot, The Last Round-Up was also well known for the dances which were held there every Saturday night.
In 1965 the front part of the building was the Riverside Inn.  The back part of the building was the bar and dance hall, and the meeting place for the American Legion.

During the flood, on the night of April 12, 1965, the Legion Club caught on fire and because of the flood waters the fire department could not reach the scene. The building was completely destroyed.
