near Fountain Lake in the early 1850’s. He grew up on the farm on the southwest shore of the lake, and then in 1896 married Christine Warzecha in the fist first marriage performed by Rev. Father Savs in St. Peter’s church.
The couple farmed in Woodland township until 1904, when they moved to Montrose. In 1906 they came to Delano where Frank started his livery service, and later, in 1909, the automobile business. Frank served as councilman and mayor of Delano, and for a number of years was a Wright County Commissioner.
Frank and Christine’s children were Anthony (who died in the flu epidemic of 1918), Oscar L. (who started the Leiter Oil Co.), Leonard, Helen (who died when she was 15), and Bernice. Oscar married Louise Schaust, Leonard married Clara Schaust, and Bernice married Victor Muckenhirn.
Chistine died in 1946, and Frank married a second time, in 1950, to Marie Irving. Frank and Marie moved to Seattle in 1952 where they lived until Frank’s death. His son Oscar was at his bedside when he died April 12, 1957, and brought the body back to Delano for burial in the family plat in Calvary cemetery. All the businesses in Delano were closed during the time of the funeral services
