Rieder Homestead Barn

The Rieder barn was built in 1881 by Andrew Rieder (1836-1911) who emigrated from Baudenbach, Bavaria, Germany in 1861.  It was part of the original homestead.

The barn, which once housed cattle, chickens and pigeons in the pigeon house on the roof, was passed down to Andrew’s nephew Leonard J. Rieder. It was passed to Leonard's grandsons, Laurence, Dave and Dan Rieder in 1980 when their grandmother passed.  Dave and Dan used it as their woodworking shop.  In May 21, 2016 the first concert was performed in the Rieder Homestead Barn. It is now a venue for live music concerts.

There have been five generations on the block of Bridge Ave, where the barn stands. Andrew, his nephew and son in law, Leonard (L.J.), who started the Rieder Meat Market, his son Laurence Rieder, and Laurence's children.  Both Leonard and Laurence Sr. were Delano City Mayors.
